It's just up a hill, down a hill, up another hill. Over and over. I saw these big bridges the other day. They use them to connect the road on the top of one hill with the road on the top of another hill for the card.
My thought is, why don't they build these for Pilgrims. Then we can avoid all that silly up and down stuff. And they can put a nice high tech surface on it so it is easy on our feet and knees. Heck, they could even have a few rocks and stones along the side for atmosphere. It would also be nice if they included a bar/cafe every 3 km. Maybe even a conveyor belt, so we wouldn't to actually walk, and a little stand to hold our pack beside us. They could probably figure how to project trees and cows, maybe every once in a while a little whiff of vaca caca. Just letting my mind wander here.
I left O Cebreiro about 7:30 am and caught a nice sunrise.
Then I walked on catching my breath, panting, gasping for air; through some beautiful scenery.
And finally I got to the big San Roque statue and got a great shot.
Here is my selfie for the day.
Then we did a few more uphill and a few downhills
Many of you have heard the stories about wild dogs on the Camino. I kid you not, from the stories I heard before my first Camino, I was scared to death that I was going to be attacked and torn to pieces by a pack of wild dogs. I even researched to see if I could use some kind of spray to protect myself. Well, maybe I am kidding just a little. Here is the wildest dog I could find today.
Not joking he was so mean he gave me a dirty look for disturbing his nap.
There were also vacas and vaca bebes. so there will always be vaca caca.
I got to the Albergue in Triacastela. I'm in a room with an Italian couple. And then there are four young people, two from France (Mark and his nurse, body guard, girlfriend) one from Germany (Susan)and one from Mexico (Eric.) we are an international room.
I had a nice talk with Eric, at the dining room table, about why we're doing the Camino.

Okay ... I think I have caught up!! So happy for you that you decided to keep going. Oh - in NH (and probably other places as well) we call those trails like today - PUDS - pointless ups and downs! Living vicariously through your journey! <3
